We are the Climate-KIC Alumni Community and we are creating a movement of empowered climate actors and changemakers.
Our community aims to be an open, dynamic, self-organising and action-focused community for climate action. Individually, each member has either taken part in an EIT Climate-KIC programme or project, or identifies with our values and goals. Collectively, we are taking action for a more sustainable future.
It all started back in 2012, when graduates from the EIT Climate-KIC summer school did not want their journey to end and founded the Climate-KIC Alumni Association. Now, it’s 7 years later and we only have 11 years left to solve the climate crisis. We believe that our community of entrepreneurial, motivated and talented people can make a difference. But, in order to embrace the potential of the community and support individual’s actions, we need to move away from mainstream practices.
How do we do this? Experimentation!
There is no innovation without experimentation, and that’s why since 2019 we are running community experiments. The main goal of these experiments is to get insight into effective community governance models that facilitate climate action. Together with the community, we are doing research and test different ways of organising ourselves in experiments. Community experiments are always aimed at creating climate impact and are open for everybody to join.
Did you know that..
Our community is part of something much bigger! Because next to EIT Climate-KIC, there are other EIT Knowledge Innovation Communities (KICs). The EIT Alumni Community brings together the 5 Alumni Community of the EIT KIC’s with the goal to foster collaboration between them, in order to tackle societal challenges. Being an EIT Climate-KIC alumnus, you can part of this exciting community as well, and find opportunities all over Europe and beyond!
